Owned and operated by studio engineer Brad Showalter, our primary area of specialty is Studio Recording.  Our facility houses a variety of the latest analogue and digital recording equipment suitable for recording any style of music and/or vocal talent.

Over the years, we have made a long list of contacts who collaborate with us on a regular basis.  Currently, we are working with independent producers/songwriters Klaus Luchs, Jamel Kimbrough and DJ Ford who work with our clients with songwriting, producing, and artists development.  Without a doubt one or both of these guys will be around the studio to lend their expertise and to ensure your experience with Kiwi Audio results in a successful outcome.

More About Brad Showalter:

Brad Showalter is an Aurora native who has been recording and creating music since 1997.  During highschool, he took a huge interest in the realm of audio, both in live mixing and recording.  Towards the end of highschool, Brad bought his first Apple computer, a handful of microphones and cables, and a small home-based Pro Tools system.  Over the next few years, he converted his parents basement into a small project studio where he recorded numerous local bands and voice-over talents.

Brad in StudioBrad received a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago, where he concentrated on studio recording, live engineering, sound system design, and audio for film.  He studied under teachers such as engineers Jack Alexander, Jim Tullio, Freddie Brietberg, Mary Mazurek, and Dan Dietrich. While attending Columbia, he spent most of his time in the studios, experimenting with new mixing techniques and microphone placements.  In addition to all the technical aspects of the studio, he also poured himself into learning the industry standard software, Pro Tools.  While attending Columbia, Brad continued to record local bands and started recording orchestras and symphonies using stereo microphone techniques while attending Columbia.

Towards the last year of college, Brad started designing audio and lighting systems.  He was contracted by a large private school in Aurora to head up the consulting, design, and installation of their auditorium.  After finishing college, he began constructing his current project studio, where he lives and works.  He has recorded numerous artists within this space, in addition to mixing albums of all different genres.  In 2008 the company Kiwi Audio, LLC was made official.  Brad is currently working with numerous producers, studios, and engineers in the Chicagoland area.
